Through shared moments and discoveries across the city, the film captures the beauty of young love and the emotional power of place, memory, and connection. Celebrated for its authentic Jamaican voice and visual storytelling, the film received both the Lennie Little-White Award for Best Local Film and The Spirit of GATFFEST Award. Co-written and co-directed by Jamaican filmmaker Aliceia Valentine alongside David “Boncrek” Johnson, Snapshot Kingston marked Valentine’s debut in filmmaking and the beginning of her award-winning storytelling journey. A writer, screenwriter, and director, Valentine is known for creating emotionally grounded narratives that reflect Jamaican life, identity, and human connection.
